{"id":5385,"date":"2024-03-14T04:46:52","date_gmt":"2024-03-14T08:46:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/matroidunion.org\/?p=5385"},"modified":"2024-03-14T07:13:28","modified_gmt":"2024-03-14T11:13:28","slug":"2024-workshop-on-mostly-matroids","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/matroidunion.org\/?p=5385","title":{"rendered":"2024 Workshop on (Mostly) Matroids"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><span style=\"font-size: revert\">We are excited to announce the <em>2024 Workshop on (Mostly) Matroids<\/em>, held in-person at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibs.re.kr\/eng\/sub01_08_01.do\">Institute for Basic Science (IBS)<\/a>, Daejeon, South Korea, on August 19 \u2013 23, 2024. \u00a0<\/span>We hope that this workshop will continue the tradition of previous workshops held in Sittard \u00a0(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.matroidunion.org\/meetings\/2008\/\">2008<\/a>), Maastricht (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.matroidunion.org\/meetings\/2010\/\">2010<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.matroidunion.org\/meetings\/2012\/\">2012<\/a>), Princeton (<a href=\"https:\/\/matroidunion.org\/?page_id=469\">2014<\/a>), Eindhoven (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thenetworkcenter.nl\/Output\/Workshops-and-Conferences\/article\/163\/2016-International-Workshop-on-Structure-in-Graphs-and-Matroids\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2016<\/a>), Waterloo (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.math.uwaterloo.ca\/~jfgeelen\/SiGMa2017\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2017<\/a>), and Baton Rouge (2019). The focus will be on all aspects of matroid theory, including its connections to graph theory, algebraic geometry, and other areas of mathematics.<\/p>\n<p>We plan to bring together 50-70 researchers from all over the world. We are enthusiastic about making this workshop an opportunity for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, especially those who have had limited opportunities for research collaborations and in-person meetings.
