{"id":2484,"date":"2020-04-10T09:17:03","date_gmt":"2020-04-10T13:17:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/matroidunion.org\/?p=2484"},"modified":"2020-04-11T01:14:21","modified_gmt":"2020-04-11T05:14:21","slug":"relaunch-and-online-talks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/matroidunion.org\/?p=2484","title":{"rendered":"Relaunch and Online Talks"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We hope all our readers are staying safe during these difficult times.\u00a0 Since online content is increasingly important at the moment, we thought it would be a very apt time to relaunch Matroid Union.\u00a0 Thus, we are very pleased to announce that <a href=\"https:\/\/uwaterloo.ca\/scholar\/rtrcampb\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rutger Campbell<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.relindejurrius.nl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Relinde Jurrius<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.math.uwaterloo.ca\/~rmmccart\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rose McCarty<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/uwaterloo.ca\/combinatorics-and-optimization\/about\/people\/jvanderp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jorn van der Pol<\/a> will be joining us as new Editors.\u00a0 Please contact us if you would like to give a guest post.<\/p>\n<p>Dillon Mayhew and Peter Nelson are retiring from Matroid Union, and we wish them the best in their post-Blog existence.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In addition, we&#8217;re excited to announce a new online matroid theory seminar with talks scheduled weekly on Thursdays at 3pm ET (8pm BST, 7am Friday NZDT). The seminar begins next week, and the first talks will be:<\/p>\n<div>April 16: James Oxley, The binary matroids with no odd circuits of size exceeding five<\/div>\n<div>April 23: Dillon Mayhew, Definability and non-definability for classes of matroids<\/div>\n<div>April 30: Nathan Bowler, Quasi-graphic matroids<\/div>\n<div>May 7: Rudi Pendavingh, Counting valuated matroid types<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>The talks will be held on Zoom and are open for anyone to attend.
