Built on Python, it has extensive libraries for numerous areas of mathematics. One of these areas is Matroid Theory, as has been exhibited <a href=\"https:\/\/matroidunion.org\/?cat=7\">several times<\/a>\u00a0on this blog.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/summerofcode.withgoogle.com\">Google Summer of Code<\/a> is a program where Google pays students to work on open-source software during the summer.<\/p>\n<p>Once again, SageMath has been selected as a mentoring organization for the Google Summer of Code.\u00a0We&#8217;ve had students work on aspects of the\u00a0Matroid Theory functionality for the past four years. Maybe this year, YOU can join those illustrious ranks! Check out the <a href=\"https:\/\/summerofcode.withgoogle.com\/organizations\/6294052148871168\/\">call for proposals<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"https:\/\/wiki.sagemath.org\/GSoC\/2018\">ideas list<\/a>. Read the instructions on both pages carefully.
